Lineage of Teachers
Kriya Yoga has been passed down for centuries in a direct teacher-disciple lineage (guru-parampara) — from Mahavatar Babaji through Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar and Yogananda to the masters of today — an authentic, unbroken lineage and initiation by an authorized Teacher ensures the accuracy and safety of the practice.

Monks and today's Teachers
Kriya Yoga is suitable for both those who live a secular life and those who have devoted themselves to monastic life. Spirituality is a transformation of the heart – therefore, it is equally accessible to everyone. That is why our lineage includes both monks or swamis and lay people or yogis who live a family life.
Spiritual teaching and the role of the Guru in Kriya Yoga
In life, whatever it may be—worldly or spiritual, secular or sacred—we are constantly learning. Learning is the path of life—from our mother’s lap to our last breath. Every person, event, or experience is a teacher.
Spiritual learning transforms the heart and mind, helping you to become a kind, compassionate, and conscious person. Its goal is unity with the Divine, immortality, or the experience of self-realization.
In ancient times, disciples lived together with their Guru, but today the connection is maintained through the Guru's books, teachings, and practices. By loving and sincerely following the Masters, the disciple is able to transform his life.
